Graphical User Interface is meant to facilitate the interaction of user with the device in a graphical way rather than typing in a command line. GUI has got matured with overall system development of computers. A window manager is an essential part that controls the placement and appearance of windows in a GUI. Tabs were a significant inclusion in a window. Tabs allow an application to contain multiple documents in a single window. This eases the way to switch between different instances of application.

Tabs became famous when they were introduced in web browsers. The user can effortlessly navigate between different web pages. The developers have introduced different particular functions for tabs in web browser. These functions may vary from browser to browser. Google Chrome is the new rival in the war of web browsers and outperformed many web browser. It is because of its speed and spectacular tabbed window interface. Its brilliant tabbed interface has pushed developers of Mozilla Firefox to employ almost similar concept in the next major upgrade of web browser. Google Chrome allows users to arrange and organize tabs easily and efficiently. Still the functionality of tabs can be enhanced in many ways to alleviate the web surfers. Tab Menu
If you are used to open a large number of tabs, it leads to a cluttered tab strip. In this case the viewer is not able to identify the web page as the titles in tab squeezes and become invisible. In a less messy scenario, the user may identify a page by its favicon but there may be pages that don’t have any favicon. Tab menu extension for Google Chrome rescues you in such a situation. It displays a vertical menu which contains all open tabs. The user can easily navigate through the menu with keyboard and mouse. The tabs can be searched, opened, or closed easily.  There is a shortcut key (Ctrl+M) available which opens the tab menu in a new tab for better view and navigation. Tab Menu option will let you modify this shortcut key and configure display of tab counter. Also if there are multiple instances of Google Chrome windows, they can be merged from options.

This is a more nice looking extension to handle many opened tabs at a time. It is pretty much similar to the Firefox extension because it has been developed by same team. It displays previews of all opened tabs. The thumbnails are filled as users gradually moves.  You can move tabs to suspended column which is frees the memory in use. Like many other extensions, it supports restoring closed tabs. It lets you arrange tabs with respect to title, creation time or domain.

It is an awesome idea to implement as an extension for Google Chrome. While you have opened a lot of websites and wondering from where I opened the link and want to return, Tab Jump will let you easily find the related tab. It also figures out the tabs which are used frequently. You will never forget the related tab in a crowd of tabs. This extension also implements “Undo Close Tab” functionality. It recognizes the recently closed tabs and reopens them with a single click.

Sexy Undo Close Tab
If you are not interested to use the tab managing or previewing functionality of above Google Chrome’s extensions and need a simple tab restoring extension then you should try this. This extension has a simple interface and also shows the time since the tab is closed. In options, you can configure the maximum amount of tabs that are kept in memory. You can also disable the clear list or tab count feature which are enabled by default.

FreshStart
This extension is an elegant session manager for Google Chrome. You can save current windows which contains all opened tabs. Thus the windows with closed tabs can be opened any time later. This extension saves session in form of a bookmark. If bookmarks are synchronized through default option in Google Chrome or some other way, the session can be accessed on any other installation of Google Chrome which is also bookmark synched.These are some necessary extension to manage tabs in Google Chrome web browser.
