If you read this blog regularly, then you probably don't need any lecture on Equinox themes. Equinox GTK Theme + Faenza Icon Sets are probably the best combination of themes I have ever found for my Ubuntu. Last day, I was doing my regular repository update when I noticed some new Equinox packages. Two new themes were introduced by Equinox team and the whole package keeps getting better.

Equinox Evolution and Equinox Evolution Light are the new themes. Both are really good, but I would say, Equinox Evolution is the better one. I absolutely liked the bluish glow of the new Equinox Evolution theme. Great work guys.

How to Install Equinox Themes in Ubuntu 10.04 'Lucid Lynx'?

I hope you guys do remember the awesome little preview application called Globus Preview. Here is another beautiful application from the same team. It's called CoverGloobus. It displays cover art and lyrics in your desktop and it supports almost all popular linux media players. Also, the supported themes are really good in my opinion.

    CoverGloobus: A Quick Review
CoverGloobus is a nice simple application to display cover art in your desktop along with lyrics. It is highly configurable and it looks beautiful as well.

Ubuntu 10.10 'Maverick Meerkat' keeps changing. The latest updates include a brand new default wallpaper which I think looks horrible. The new changes also brings in a select number of wallpapers contributed by community which unlike their 'default' counterpart, looks beautiful. Meanwhile, you may also want to check out our collection of 10 handpicked Ubuntu 10.10 wallpapers from Ubuntu Artwork Pool.

Unfortunately, the above wallpaper is supposedly going to be the new Ubuntu 10.10 default wallpaper. But I seriously hope, when the final release comes out, they have a surprise in store for us in the form of a new default wallpaper. At least a modified one, please. I really hate those red spots!!

We introduced to you guys probably the best combination of gtk theme and icon set for Ubuntu/Gnome[Equinox gtk theme + Faenza icon theme]. Now take a look at Awoken icon theme. I won't say it is better than Faenza icon theme, but it is almost as good.
